Dye Question
Before dye remover was changed to Gray dye, I made a great Blood Red dye for this Nec. I have been unable to reproduce this color, does anyone have a good dye mix for a nice bright arterial blood red color on Nec armor? Thx

The necro blood red combo was a big issue when they first killed dyes... Unfortunately there are many old dye combos that just can't be recreated. Some combos you might get close to... but pretty much, with the release of nightfall, dyes and dye combinations were killed entirely. Yeah it's a pain and it's been discussed before, but the crappy dyes we have now are probably here to stay.

Unfortunately gray dye =\= dye remover and any combination that required dye remover was killed. Also when white dye was introduced, silver was completely changed and combinations that used the previous silver dyes could not be made anymore.
You'll just have to play around and find a colour you like. Im guessing a combination of black, red, orange and maybe brown is what you want to look into. Last edited by bhavv; Mar 23, 2008 at 03:07 AM // 03:07.. |

On my necro I used Red & Purple on the Scar pattern and it's REALLY vivid.
IDK if it would work on armor though, worth a preview at least. |

I have the female version of your armor and I have never been able to create a blood red dye... the closer I got was with only 1 red dye....

I don't think it is a bright as your old armor but I believe I used a red and brown to get a more red look on my necro armor. Red and orange would have made it a little brighter than my present color so that might be as close as you can get.

What sucks is you can get a nice, rich red (or any other color) by using two of the same dyes. Unfortunately, for some really stupid reason, Anet decided that the dye system wouldn't allow mixes of only same colors, despite them having an obvious effect.
I had to do Red+Red+Red+Brown to get a somewhat rich red on my Dervish Monument set, even though there is a slight orange tint to it. |

I know on my necro's 15k Luxon I found a brown+red combo was close to a blood red dye, but I never used the combo really so I dunno the difference between the old and the new system on some colors...

It varies by armor. You can get something close to blood red on some armors at least. Red+Red+Red+Green(?!) gives a vivid red on some necro armors (like vabbian). Red+Red+Red+Brown works in some cases too. Experiment with the dye preview.
